Availability: Some documents are regularly given out and supplies are maintained (ex. pamphlets and applications). However, some documents are produced for a particular report or program, and there may be only a few copies or a single copy left (ex. some data reports). If you need one of these documents, it may be necessary to copy needed parts, view it at a DEP office, or make other arrangements (call 287-3901).

Can't find it? If you're pretty sure the publication exists, but you can't find it on this site or you want a hardcopy, email or call 207-287-3901 to request a hardcopy, or email or call 287-7799 to ask for a link to the document, if it may be on the site.

Cost -- A single copy of most publications is free.  There is a charge for some of the larger BMP manuals.   If copying or multiple copies are needed, a charge may also apply.  Code Enforcement Officers requesting multiple copies to give to the public are generally not charged. 

Cover date -- The "cover date" is the date a document was made available.    When the handout is a law or rule, the reader should not assume that the "cover date" is the same as the effective date of the law or rule.   Different parts of a law may have different effective dates.

Hardcopies -- To request a hardcopy of a document, email or call 207-287-3901. For certain publications, you may be directed on to a particular staff person.
